Stranger in a Dream

SS_ 144_FINAL (2) In 2012, Stacy Sullivan appeared on “Piano Jazz,” the longest running cultural program in the history of National Public Radio. Jon Weber, Sullivan’s long-time collaborator, became full-time host when the show’s creator Marian McPartland, harmonic genius and composer, passed away in 2013. Jon invited Stacy to perform at her memorial in Port Washington, Long Island. This led to a journey of discovery and admiration, not only for Marian’s and her original compositions, but also for her interviews and contribution to preserving, through education and information, the great American art form, Jazz. Each song on this album was either written by Marian McPartland, performed or talked about on “Piano Jazz.”
