Steve Doyle

Bassist Steve Doyle currently resides in the booming metropolis of New York but initially grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. During his formative years in the cornhusker state, Steve received numerous scholarships and awards in including a full ride merit scholarship to UNL, an invitation to participate in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition and an award from the Milt Hinton Scholarship competition for study with John Clayton and Charlie Haden in Los Angeles. After graduating from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Music Education, Steve made his move to New York and has become an active part of the music scene performing regularly at venues such as the Carlysle, Birdland and Feinstein’s. He has performed with many noteworthy artists including the Tony Award winning vocalist Christine Ebersole, Grammy award winners Billy Stritch and Lari White. He has shared the stage with jazz greats Bucky Pizzarelli, Dave Stryker, Chris Potter and Gene Bertoncini. Steve currently performs extensively around the US and the world with Concord recording artist Tony Desare. In addition to his virtuosic bass playing, Steve is also an excellent pianist/vocalist with steady engagements in and around New York. Steve has one CD as a leader entitled Presence with another in production currently.
