Jim Stone, Big Band Swing
“Take the cream of the crop of songwriters mix in some blues, ballads, rock, country and a voice that can handle all those formats and you have Stacy Sullivan's stunning cd..."West on 40" on the LML label.  Stacy's voice pours out sincerity with every breath and she delivers lyrics like they were written just for her.  "West on 40" shows that Stacy can sing any song with depth, imagination and feeling.  This one is a winner all the way.”

I've reviewed over 100 Christmas albums and, after reminding myself of them while preparing this review, I know that this is the best of them all, despite those other albums being recorded by many of my all-time favorite singers.  Stacy relates to the song, "I'll Be Home for Christmas" in some special way as she delivers one of the finest versions of this song that I've ever heard. I've listened to several incredible versions of "Away in a Manger", but Stacy and her musicians easily match those versions-indeed, this may be the best of them all...my favorite track here is "Ave Maria", which I've never previously heard with a simple acoustic guitar backing. This song provides a severe technical test for any singer, ruthlessly exposing any vocal weakness. By including it here, Stacy leaves nobody in any doubt that she is world-class singer. This is a fairly mellow album, ideal for playing during those quieter moments around Christmas.

Wow. Stacy Sullivan is incredibly talented, and her Cold Enough to Snow is superb. Having reviewed perhaps five million holiday albums over the years, it takes quite a bit to knock me off my reviewer's chair, but Sullivan managed to do just that. She possesses an A+ voice, an elegant/earthy alto brimming over with emotion and warmth. This album is sophisticated country cabaret with serious jazz/pop undertones. Just amazing!  Cold Enough to Snow is excellent music, through and through. Stacy Sullivan is a bona fide cabaret star who stands ready to sweep you off your feet this holiday season. Let her!

Whether it's her haunting version of "So in Love" or her get-on-your-feet-and dance cover of "You'd Be Surprised", Stacy Sullivan entertains like no other cabaret vocalist I have ever seen or heard. She has the ability to make an audience feel as it the've sat down for a cozy evening of friendship and song."

Jonathon Frank, "Sound Advice"

Stacy Sullivan possesses one of the most sensual, smoky altos I've ever had the pleasure of hearing..."West on 40" is one of the top recordings of 2004...There is not a single track that does not display her stamp or her joy.

I absolutely love the new Stacy Sullivan CD "West on 40". I think everything about it is great-her voice, her performances, the choice of material, the arrangements, the production...fantastic. It's just sitting in my CD player, accompanying me back and forth to NY. She has a new fan.

Stacy Sullivan brings something completely new to cabaret...the American Poplular Song that she loves so dearly tilted slightly country in honor of her Oklahoma roots. She proves that these classic songs can adapt to any style when interpreted from the heart with a voice that is pure gold...You're in for a great ride!

'My Romance: A Country Cabaret' is a fantastic take on songs from the Great American Songbook. The Arrangements: fabulous! The musicians: fabulous! Stacy Sullivan: FABULOUS!

WEST ON 40: Stacy Sullivan finds her voice in her latest CD. All the influences of her family are there, the Country, the Pop, the Theatre & Cabaret, yielding this smart CD filled with a new kind of energy. No this is not the beautiful but mild style of her first CD, AT THE BEGINNING, but rather a look at her personal journey and growth as a singer. I hope the listener will experience the level of joy that Stacy has discovered by following her own path and creating this exciting musical masterpiece.

One of the most wonderful things to hear is a performer who has discovered his or her voice. Any singer with a shred of artistry is in a state of constant exploration to discover that spark that makes him or her 'special' or more importantly, true to themselves. It's a risky endeavor, as it is much easier (and, unfortunately, all too often more financially rewarding) to go with the pack. One of my favorite singers...released an album that is so personal and displays such a wild departure from her previous album in terms of vocal style, that it may very well be one of the most exciting albums of the year: Stacy Sullivan's West on 40.  Her personality is in full blaze and every song bears her brand. From the opening track, the sultry "A Long, Good Night" (Ken Hirsch/Rosie Casey) to the hard-edged rocking version of Buddy Holly's "Everyday", there is not a single track that does not display her stamp or her joy.  Highlights include a subtly rethought version of Amanda McBroom's "Dreaming," in which she modulates the chorus's keys to haunting effect, a funky "I Feel the Earth Move" (Carole King), a well realized "Simple Twist of Fate" (Bob Dylan), and a tender "Trying To Do The Right Thing" (Robben Ford). For guilty pleasures, there's no topping "Goodbye Don't Get Any Better Than This," a rollicking country number by Stacy's brother, Tim.

Daniel Henninger – Wall Street Journal

Carnegie Recital Hall, New York
Stacy who won Manhattan’s 2002 cabaret award for Best Female Debut sang her mother’s “Evidence,” a song so brief, spare and paced with odd tonalities that it brought to mind an art song. That afternoon, I think, was a compact case study in the roots of minor musical genius.

Stacy Sullivan did a special one-nighter. Her CD “West on 40” got full ‘in-person’ treatment. The paraphrase title of the whole evening could be “Southwest on 44th Street.” Some Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan helped make up her impressive song list.”

A stunning beauty with a voice to match and the ability to make the audience laugh and cry.  An Actress, singer and natural charmer, Stacy Sullivan brings it all together with 'My Romance: A Country Cabaret'. If you're within a day's drive of New York, change your plans if necessary, but don't miss this show...

a journey filled with heart

One of the most talented singers to come along, June 15, 2003. You just can't listen to this CD without really feeling the deep commitment and genuine feelings that Stacy puts into every song. Each song is represented with a flair that says, "I own this now" which makes her music unique and stamped with her soul. She doesn't try to sound like someone else or imitate anyone. This is the true mark of exceptional talent. She is headed for the top. I think Grammy is in her near future.

Back Stage

Stacy Sullivan has an engaging approach to lyrics that make every song compelling.

LA Weekly

If Hollywood was still filming musicals as they used to, Stacy Sullivan would be a big movie star. She surely has all the requisites for stardom…a beautiful face and figure, superb singing voice and a style that makes the most of her material which ranged from famous and rare show tunes to pop standards and novelties. But it was her way of relating to the audience, with clever song intros and humorous anecdotes about being raised in a small Oklahoma town that made her a charmer.
